Day 42

The last day!!! Bittersweet.

Waking up to these two beauties in Boise  was such a treat.

The boys were more than happy to play!

And, then off to check out the parks of Boise.

Sometimes we forget how little he still is.

Cooling off.....,Gina was right, it is hot here.

Putting our feet in the Boise river.

Hitting the renowned west side drive in before we go....

For a famous Idaho spud -- it's actually ice cream!

And one more quick Capitol drive by before we wrap this trip up....

Herein lies the spot of our first minor catastrophe....

I realized we were almost out of gas and so we drove into the tiny town of Huntington, Oregon.  I pulled into the ONLY gas station in town to find out they were OUT of gas.  Possible???  Yes, but they were expecting some in about an hour.   So, we were told to go to the only restaurant in town to grab lunch.  I'm feeling duped....

But, we're making the most of it.  We all agree that it's better than running out of gas...

Scenic Oregon.

The boys were happy to see we have these in Oregon....they were starting the think we were the only state without.

Now that's a sight to see in the distance.

We found Ruby dog!!!!!!  And, she can't stop smiling!!!

Home sweet home.

7327 Miles.  42 days.  16 states.  10 national parks.  TRIP OF A LIFETIME!

I couldn't have asked for better travel companions.  It was perfect.

Day 41

This little guy sleeps like a champ at the Goldberg residence!!!

The boys are on a mission.

They are determined to summit the peak behind Brian and Beth's.

They are up there....

But..... Everybody has to learn that what goes up must come down at some point!   So.... Guess who had to climb up to the top and help these two down??

It's a nice view from up here..... A great send off from Jackson.

We have entered our 16th state of the trip!

This kind of scenery makes driving easy.

One last national park before we are done.

Another hike...

For the second time today, we feel like we are in top of the world.

We arrived at Gina and Scott's around 9:15 ---- always a treat to be with friends and have a cozy place to stay!

Day 40

Jackson hole in a day....

First time on a horse!

Second time for this guy.

Talk about a great way to start the day.... Although I could have done without seeing a coyote.

The view from the trail.

And, as if riding a horse wasn't thrilling enough.....

Xander...

And, then me.....the only adult partaking in the activity.

And, the fun continues on a float down the river with the "professionals" (aka Beth, Lilly, and Mel)

I can see why they like to do this as often as they can!

Goofing around.

This has to be the best way to experience a little taste of Wyoming.

Of course miles had to come back one last time....

Ready for a gondola ride up top.

Here we go!!!

So much to love about this beautiful place.

Day 39

Rough night for this one --bad tummy ache!

Lazy morning.

Quick stop at the local winery for a taste and a few bottles to go....

The second big dam in our trip...

Much more scenic than the first!

And I thought the drive yesterday was spectacular....

Entering from the east.

The aftermath from forest fires...

Sylvan lake.  Skipping rocks.

Beautiful boys.

The view from the side of the road where Xander had to change clothes after experienced his first major bought of car sickness ..... Not bad considering we've gone over 6000 miles!

Ice cream break.....probably not the best idea after puking, but it seemed to work out ok.

Old faithful --- the last part of the eruption.

Marshall would be excited to see this sign....

Every turn is more and more beautiful.

Elk spotting.

Lewis falls.

The Grand Tetons.

And we made it to Brian and Beth's!!!
